Meghan is proudly mixed-race, with dad Thomas being Caucasian and mum Doria being African-American – and the star has admitted to getting semi-permanent straightening treatment for her locks.

Back in 2011, she said: “My mum is black and my dad is Dutch and Irish, so the texture of my hair is densely curly. I’ve been getting Brazilian blowouts for a couple of years.”

Myka Meier, who runs the etiquette courses, told Fabulous Online: “The one thing that might be interesting is her hair.

“We don’t know what she does to treat her hair now but it is likely she uses a keratin or a Brazilian treatment to straighten it.

“As soon as she gets pregnant she will no longer be able to use those same products, which could be very interesting.

“I use the same products because I am quarter African and have very curly, frizzy hair and when I got pregnant I had to stop using all of those.”

Myka revealed that we should start looking out for the Duchess of Sussex increasingly tying her hair up, as a big sign.

The etiquette guru said: “I think we’ll see her wearing more of a bun when that happens, which could be a tell-tale sign she is pregnant as she’ll no longer be able to use those stringent chemicals that are often used for that beautiful glossy look.”

The six things Meghan Markle WON’T be allowed to do on her birthday (including eating cake before the Queen)

The Brazilian blow-dry treatments incorporate a mix of keratin (a protein in hair and nails) and formaldehyde.

These chemicals are used to penetrate hair cuticles and smooth the shaft, and treatment can last up to four months.

Typically the treatment costs between £100 and £350.

Dr Sarah Jarvis, GP and Clinical Director of , told Fabulous Online: “Lots of mums worry whether beauty treatments, as well as medicines, are safe when they’re pregnant.

"Hair treatments obviously aren’t taken internally, like tablets, but small amounts can be absorbed through the scalp and if there are fumes you can breathe them in.

“There isn’t enough research to say for certain if keratin treatments are safe, so doctors will usually suggest you’re careful.

“The exception is keratin treatments containing formaldehyde – and there have been concerns that at high levels, this can cause birth defects.

“So I recommend that women absolutely avoid any keratin product which might contain formaldehyde.”

Celebrity Stylist Jay Birmingham Hair told Fabulous Online: "It is important for pregnant women to approach treatments like these and other chemical based procedures with caution.

"Most straightening and relaxing treatments are safe for use during pregnancy, some Keratin treatments contain a chemical called formaldehyde.

"Long term exposure to this chemical can be potentially dangerous and it can be difficult to determine if the Keratin treatment you are having will contain this chemical or not.

"I would advise avoiding this throughout pregnancy and instead treat your hair to loots of deep conditioning treatments and hair masks to reduce frizz and smooth your hair."

Etiquette expert Myka, who is also the founder of , said Meghan might also reveal her pregnancy later than Kate Middleton has in the past.

She said: “With the Duchess of Cambridge, she was forced to tell everyone she was expecting because of hospitalisations.

“However, with the Duchess of Sussex, hopefully that is not the case and she doesn’t suffer with any sickness and she might try to hide her pregnancy a little longer and give her privacy.

“She’s already known to wear loose clothing so I think it’s not like she’ll go from tight clothing to very loose.”

Meanwhile, this is the secret item Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton wear underneath dresses to avoid flashing their knickers.

And the Duchess of Sussex could receive THIS secret travel item from the Royal Family for her future trips.

Meghan wore £23,000 worth of designer clothes in 24 hours while on royal visit to Ireland.
