Here’s how to get Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly’s designer Strictly Come Dancing looks for less
IT IS that time of year again: Strictly Come Dancing is back on our screens from and with it, a weekly dose of fashion inspo.
The BBC's celebrity dancing show, which is all about glitz and glamour, has equally as glamorous co-hosts: Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daley.
The dynamic duo gave us a peak of what is to come at the official Strictly launch event at the BBC's Old Broadcasting House in London on Monday 26th August.
Their respective looks couldn't have been more different: Daly channelled shimmering showgirl in a silver sequin dress while Winkleman channelled suave showman in a suit.
Cancel your plans, because every Saturday from now until Christmas everyone in Britain is occupied, busy being served some serious evening wear inspiration to drool over.
And drool we will, but buy we won't. Those designer dresses come with a hefty price tag but, luckily, we've got the high street alternatives that will make you look twice.
- Satin-trimmed blazer, £70 from Zara -
- Tuxedo trousers, £30 from Zara -
Ever the down-to-earth icon, Claudia Winkleman shopped on the high street ahead of the Strictly event on Monday.
Paying homage to the classic men's tuxedo in Zara, she wore a fitted blazer with satin lapels and skinny trousers with matching side stripes.
Teamed with her trademark black bangs and a pair of hoop earrings, the presenter channelled a sleek, borrowed-from-the-boys look which contrasted her co-host's considerably.
It was a cheaper look too, racking in at a mere £100 - but if you don't have that much cash to spare, check out our cheaper alternative.
- Satin-trimmed blazer, £16 from Boohoo -
- Cigarette pants, £13 from H&M -
Boohoo's black blazer is cut in a double-breasted silhouette and trimmed with satin lapels.
An evening staple, it looks great paired with everything from jeans to slip dresses.
We like it best with matching suit trousers...especially the skinny style worn by Claudia Winkleman.
H&M's cigarette pants have a sleek silhouette that underpins a tuxedo blazer perfectly, but they can be worn with an oversized shirt or jumper on more casual occasions.
- Sequinned midi dress, £950 from Galvan at Net-a-porter -
Tess Daly's glamorous look was the work of fashion wonder James Yardley.
The celebrity stylist has also worked with the likes of Tom Daley, Frank Lampard, Katie Piper, Caroline Flack and Rochelle Humes.
He chose a shimmering Galvan number for the presenter: cut from silver sequinned satin in a bodycon shape, it's trimmed with black tulle down each side and has a high mockneck.
This dress costs a whopping £950, but we've found a fair few high street lookalikes for less.
- Sequin midi dress, £16 from Glamorous at ASOS -
- Sequin slip dress, £39 from Miss Selfridge -
- Long sleeve sequin dress, £30 from V by Very -
Our favourite option here just happens to be the cheapest.
This midi dress by Glamorous has the same bodycon shape and high neckline as Tess Daly's.
However, if you're looking for something a little brighter, Miss Selfridge's slip style is even more metallic.
Can't fathom flashing the flesh? Opt for V by Very's long sleeved number instead.
