Limited-edition Princess Diana Beanie Baby being sold for £25k on eBay…but how much are they really worth?
You might be surprised at their true value
ONE of the limited edition Beanie Baby Princess Bears dedicated to Princess Diana is currently being listed on eBay for £25k.
The TY purple bears went on sale just months after Diana was tragically killed in a car accident on August 31 1997, and were priced at around £8.50.
The bears featured a white rose and were dedicated to Princess Diana.
Naturally, they sold out exceptionally quickly, with all profits going to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.
In fact, it was reported that shops selling the bears were only allowed 12 at one given time, due to the overwhelming demand.
But with one bear being listed for , how much are the toys really worth?
A few years ago, an English couple listed one on eBay for a whopping £75K, after buying the bear for just £10 in a car boot sale.
However, the purple bear didn't make anywhere near that amount.
lists the values of all the different Beanie Babies and has warned people against paying excessive amounts on eBay, explaining the bear is actually worth between £30 and 70.
"No, Princess is NOT worth that much. No Beanie Baby has ever been worth that much," they revealed.
"Sellers can list items at eBay for any price they choose, and in many cases the 'buy it now' or 'starting bid' prices have no relationship to the actual value.
"We show all of the Princess versions and current values on our Princess Values page."
The bears are understandably valuable to fans of Princess Diana.
Each limited edition TY toy came with a poignant message:
"Like an angel she came from heaven above; she shared her compassion, her pain, her love; she only stayed with us long enough to teach the world to share, to give, to reach."
