This is why we won’t see any official photos from Prince George’s first day at school
THE photographs of Prince George heading to his first day of school last year were utterly adorable.
So royal fans may be a little disappointed to hear that Kensington Palace won't be releasing any similar pictures as he returns to the classroom this September.
George, five, will reportedly start his new term at Thomas's Battersea on Thursday.
It's a big day for the future king, but according to royal correspondent Emily Nash, his parents Prince William and Kate Middleton are planning to mark it away from the public eye.
Emily explains: "Prince George's time at school is private and although the Duke and Duchess shared an image from his first day at primary school last year, they won't do it every year."
The couple made a similar decision during his time at nursery in Norfolk, when they only shared portraits after his first day at Westacre Montessori in January 2016.
Kate and William, both 36, are following royal tradition with their choice to keep George's school days separate from his public life.
There are only a handful of photos of William and his brother Prince Harry in their uniforms.
But we imagine we'll be seeing George soon enough, when he attends Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank on October 12.
In the meantime, he'll be taking up a few new subjects as he settles into Year One.
In Reception, he studied French, computing, art, music, drama and ballet, but the new year will introduce subjects such as science, history, geography, maths, English and PE.
George will also be given more homework - 10 minutes of reading is usually set for each evening.
Good luck, George!
