This is the small detail in Meghan Markle’s cookbook that proves she is immersing herself in British life
The £9.99 book, called Together: Our Community Cookbook, has already become a bestseller on Amazon
MEGHAN Markle’s new charity cookbook to help those affected by Grenfell Tower is already a bestseller, and it hasn’t even been released yet.
But there's a subtle nod in the three-page foreward that shows the Duchess of Sussex, 37, is fully immersing herself in British life.
Despite growing up in LA, the American actress chose to use English spellings for the book’s introduction.
This includes writing “favourite” with a “u”, unlike the US version, “favorite”, and also choosing "organisations" instead of "organizations".
It’s likely the book’s foreward will have been edited before it was released but shows Prince Harry’s wife’s dedication to her new country.
The £9.99 book, called Together: Our Community Cookbook, has already become a bestseller on Amazon, as numerous royal fans have rushed to pre-order a copy.
It has even knocked JK Rowling’s latest Robert Gabbraith offering, Lethal White, and Jamie Oliver’s Italy down the charts.
The profits from the cookbook will go towards keeping the kitchen open seven days a week.
It’s hoped the book will sell 50,000 copies, and if it reaches this figure it means £250,000 will be raised for the Hubb Community Kitchen.
is administering the transfer of funds from the sale of ‘Together’ to the Hubb Community Kitchen and related projects.
All proceeds will go back to the Hubb and the book will be available in stores this week.
"I immediately felt connected to this community kitchen; it is a place for women to laugh, grieve, cry and cook together," Meghan wrote in a foreword.
"Melding cultural identities under a shared roof, it creates a space to feel a sense of normalcy in its simplest form, the universal need to connect, nurture, and commune through food, through crisis or joy something we can all relate to."
Meghan will do her first official solo engagement as a member of the royal family visiting a Royal Academy of Arts exhibition next week.
She proved this week she is a natural with kids in a sweet encounter with young girl.
And these are the strict rules that Meghan has to follow before she can go to the loo during dinner.
