Sarah Ferguson is wearing a hat with wings to Princess Eugenie’s wedding… and people think it looks like the Golden Snitch from Harry Potter
WHAT to wear as the mother of the bride is almost as tricky as the bride herself.
For the Royal wedding, Princess Eugenie’s mum was in head-to-toe green – which some superstitious people believe is unlucky – with a dress by Emma Louise Design, a local dress maker from Ascot.
But it was the emerald green hat with gold wings, by milliner Jess Collett, that got the most attention.
This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes joked that it “looked like a venetian blind”.
However there was a slightly more magical item that some royal watchers compared it to…
One joker quipped: “Is it me or does Fergie’s hat remind you of a golden snitch from the Harry Potter films?”
Others piled in, saying: “Why does Fergie have a snitch on her hat?”
Many helpfully posted comparison photos so we could see exactly what they were talking about.
However some royal fans suggested she had taken a more flighty approach.
One tongue-in-cheek post read: “I’m not saying Sarah Ferguson’s hat is weird, but Ken in Air Traffic has just cleared her for take off.”
Fergie was all smiles as she took a seat with the Royal family to watch her daughter wed Jack Brooksbank in the Windsor church.
Kate Middleton was looking equally eye-catching in pink, as she arrived at the wedding.
And Ayda Field was accused of committing the ultimate faux pas by wearing white to a wedding.
