YESTERDAY’S Royal wedding was a very windy affair, and even Kate Middleton was left fighting to maintain her modesty.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 36, laughed as she battled to keep from incredible fuchsia Alexander McQueen dress from blowing up.
The mum-of-three was captured giggling as a huge gust of wind threatened to fully blow up the hem of the dress at Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank.
Thankfully Kate handled the situation like a pro and managed to smooth down the dress as she left St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle with husband Prince William.
Clearly not fazed by her Marilyn Monroe moment, Kate smiled as she stood next to other royals, including the Queen and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex.
Typically Kate is known to weigh down her hems to avoid her dresses blowing up, and also has another handy trick to avoid a wardrobe malfunction.
Speaking to the Sun Online, etiquette expert , founder of , revealed: “Often they wear body suits and clothes that actually increase static so it’s much hard for something to fly up.
“So you have an under garment that is almost like a body suit that is one tactic that is used.
“I know when I went to finishing school we were taught that when you are on the tarmac, if you do not use weights or heavy weighted material, you make sure it will not fly up by wearing under garments that keep the fabrics connect to your body.”
Earlier on in the day, Kate caused royal fans to gush after her and Prince William were pictured in a rare moment of PDA holding hands in the chapel.
Unlike his brother and sister-in-law, Prince Harry and Meghan, Kate and Will rarely hold hands, kiss or show much physical contact when they are out in public.
However, yesterday they were spotted hand-in-hand as they took their seats for the wedding ceremony.
Chatting to Harry and Meghan who sat beside them, Kate put her hand on William's leg and he gently held her hand as he looked through the Order of Service in front of him.
Kate wasn’t the only star to struggle against the wind at yesterday’s wedding.
Numerous celebrities were captured clinging onto their hats and trying to keep their hems down as they walked into the stunning wedding venue.
Spirits were high as the likes of Chelsy Davy and Demi Moore also did their best to stay composed with the winds.
At the ceremony, Jack Brooksbank couldn't take his eyes off Princess Eugenie, appearing to tell her "you look perfect".
