The new Royal baby will have a VERY different life to Prince George, according to a Royal expert
NEXT spring there will be a new royal baby in the family, as Meghan Markle is expecting her first child.
But Prince Harry’s new son or daughter will most likely have a very different upbringing to Prince William’s son Prince George, a royal expert has revealed.
Richard Fitzwilliam told the Sun Online: “Their upbringing will be totally different.
“One day Prince George will be King and William and Kate are doing everything they can to make their childrens’ childhood as normal and happy as possible.
“Obviously there are limitations and restrictions for the future king, and Harry’s child will be seventh in line.”
Here are some of the ways that the royal children will have a very different life…
Clothing more relaxed
The royals follow a number of etiquette rules when it comes to their clothing, such as Prince George nearly always wear shorts instead of trousers.
Richard said that Prince Harry and Meghan’s family will all enjoy a slightly more relaxed dress code Prince William and Kate’s brood.
He said: “What they wear is more relaxed because of their status. It would be more relaxed just like behaviour.”
The royal expert added that there are still expectations of all royals though, regardless of the line of succession.
He said: “However, when you are royal that does bring limitations, regardless of who you are.”
More tactile
Numerous royal fans have pointed out the difference between how touchy-feely Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, compared to Prince William and Kate.
And the same body language is expected for their offspring when they grow up too.
Richard said of Prince Harry’s baby: “He will be the child of parents who equally have fewer restrictions.
“It’s a very tactile quality, it’s a very tremendously appealing quality of Harry and Meghan.
“Whether that's high fives as they walk about, whether that's wearing less formal clothes, whether that's being more touchy-feeling, this kind of thing.”
Wider choice of education
Richard said that the primary concern for royal parents is ultimately to select where they think their child will be happiest, but he thinks Prince Harry and Meghan will have greater freedom with their selection.
He said: “It’s not a case of precedent but where the parents think will be appropriate and where they think they will be happy.
“Expect obviously Meghan and Harry to have a wider set of choices in that regard.”
Less restricted life
The royal expert said that he predicts that Meghan and Prince Harry’s child will be expected to do royal engagements, like the children of Prince William.
However, their life will be less set in stone than Prince George’s.
Richard explained: “They will probably be doing royal engagements. We don’t know what is specifically intended.
“What we are looking at with George is a lifetime of royal engagements, including being future king.
“George is the future king. He will have as free a life as his parents can give him but, inevitably, there will be limitations.
“Look at the difference between William and Harry, that explains it all.
“Clearly there will be a greater number of alternatives [for Prince Harry’s child], but I’m sure that will include royal duties as William, Kate, Harry and Meghan are part of the inner core of royals.”
Less traditional name
Richard said we might see Prince Harry and Meghan selecting a non-tradition middle name for the baby.
He said: “There is something very unique about the forthcoming baby. There is no doubt that diversity may feature in one of the three middle names.”
Royal etiquette expert Myka Meier agreed that we might see a more unusual middle name.
She said: “In the wedding she had several nods to her American heritage and I think we will see the same with the baby.
“I think we will see them playing with a middle name. I do believe it could be a name with a significant meaning.
“Maybe something symbolic of their travels together. They both have a love of Africa, maybe it could be something there, something that has meaning.”
Different surname
Despite the royal family all historically sharing the surname Mountbatten-Windsor, as direct descendants of The Queen, it is most likely Prince Harry’s baby will take the name Sussex.
And Kensington Palace confirmed George would be known as George Cambridge on the school register - his dad is Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
So it's likely any future children Harry and Meghan have will adopt the surname Sussex.
Different royal title
The new Royal baby won't be called Prince or Princess, according to a rule dating from 1917, despite all of Prince William’s kids getting the title.
A son will receive the title Duke - and if Meghan Markle and the Duke of Sussex have a daughter next spring, she will not inherit ANY title.
If the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a son, he would inherit the Dukedom but currently this doesn’t apply to girls – even if they are the firstborn child.
A group of women, known as the Strasbourg Five, are currently challenging the law, so newborn boys and girls will have equal peerage rights.
The news is likely to be close to the heart of Meghan who declared in a statement released hours after she became a royal: “I am proud to be a woman and a feminist.”
