GAME OVER

Meghan Markle encourages Prince Harry ‘to go vegan’ after ‘telling him to snub Royal Christmas shoot with Wills’

According to one royal insider, Harry is eating less meat and more fruit and veg

IT'S no secret that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are foodies - after all, Prince Harry did propose "over a roast chicken".

And before Meghan closed down her lifestyle blog, The Tig, she often wrote about her love of chips and pasta - and let's not forget the time Prince Harry "stole" a samosa from the Grenfell cookbook launch.

And now, it seems the pair are making an extra effort to lead a healthier lifestyle after one royal insider has revealed Prince Harry is eating "less meat and more fruit and veg" since marrying Meghan.

“Meghan is a keen animal lover and likes to eat vegan during the week and she has a strict no-fur policy," the insider told .

"She has also been encouraging Harry to eat less meat and more fruit and veg and is now keen to fully convert him to her views on hunting.”

It comes after claims Prince Harry will give the Royal Family's Boxing Day pheasant shoot a miss, after reports Meghan is strongly against it.

The family tradition is said to have caused problems last year when Harry took part in a wild boar hunt in Germany.

“Meghan wasn’t happy when she found out what Harry had been up to," said the insider.

“It upset her to think of him killing a defenceless animal.”

While Prince Charles and Prince William will be at the annual shoot, Harry - who has been taking part since the age of 12 - will not participate as a mark of respect towards Meghan.

“Harry has always loved hunting and it has provided them with a great chance to bond as brothers," said the insider.

“But now it looks like Harry’s shooting days are over.”

Dominika Piasecka, spokesperson for The Vegan Society, said: “We’re delighted to hear that the Duchess has been persuading Prince Harry not to take part in the Royal Christmas pheasant shoot.

"Traditions are important for every nation but if they involve senseless killing, they should not be allowed to continue.

“Vegan or not, many Brits strongly oppose hunting animals and we hope to see the Royal family set an example and stop participating in this cruel practice.”
