From peacocking to stargazing, we reveal how to send signals to seduce your secret crush this Christmas
Tis the season for a festive flirting - but you won’t get a kiss under the mistletoe if you don’t give off the right signals
YOU won’t get a kiss under the mistletoe if you don’t give off the right signals.
Both sexes lower the pitch of their voices when flirting, according to a dating survey. Eye gaze and sustained eye contact is always a valid flirt signal.
But what other signs do we give off when we’re interested in someone? Here, expert Judi James reveals the signals to give out to seduce your secret crush.
HER TIPS
STARGAZING
A normal eye-gaze lasts less than a second, so prolonged eye contact signals interest and approval. A drooped lid and softened eye expression, confirms attraction.
If a woman keeps her head at a 45-degree angle, it shows added interest.
GETTING HAIRY
When we are attracted to someone the sudden self-awareness leads to preening and grooming rituals.
Clean, shiny hair is also a big attraction factor and moving it like this draws attention to it.
BAG BARRIER
Caressing your knees, bags or upholstery suggests a tactile state.
It can mimic a desire to be touched but always proceed with caution – these kind of signals can be misread if you put up a barrier between you.
LAUGH IT OFF
Giggling or laughing when a woman is attracted to someone is the oldest trick in the book, but often we don’t realise we are doing it.
This juvenile -like response aims to flatter the guy and boost his machismo.
HIS TIPS
LOOK INTO MY EYES
When he gives you the once over with his eyes, it shows sexual interest, but when he focuses on the face, it suggests a desire to get to know you more.
The eye contact should increase with brief flicks down to the mouth.
DO STAND SO CLOSE TO ME
Proximity plus body splaying signal a desire to look stronger plus “cordon” you off from other males by suggesting intimacy.
Splaying and puffing out his chest hints at his sexual virility, too.
MIRRORING MANNERISMS
Like-bodied suggests “like-minded” and mirroring a woman’s gestures creates rapport and synchronicity.
This technique fast-tracks feelings of physical bonding.
PEACOCKING
MOST READ IN FABULOUS
This kind of preening is called peacocking, ie putting on a display to attract positive attention.
Touching his hair, adjusting his shirt or stroking his beard means that the guy chatting to you is trying to impress you.
