Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s New Year’s plans revealed as Kate Middleton and Prince William make their own arrangements

This is how they'll be ringing in the new year

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have enjoyed an incredible year after exchanging vows to become husband and wife.

It's also been a hugely important time for Prince William and Kate Middleton after they welcomed their third child, Prince Louis, in April.

But how will the Royal Family celebrate the end of such a momentous 12 months?

The royals have many traditions over the Christmas period.

Not only is there a family lunch at Buckingham Palace the Tuesday before Christmas, but the royals also follow the German tradition of opening their presents on Christmas Eve, instead of Christmas Day.

But when it comes to New Year's Eve, it seems the couples especially make their own plans.

Here's what they're getting up to this year.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

It's been a busy year for Prince Harry and Meghan.

Not only did they tie the knot, but they also embarked upon their first Royal tour together and announced they would be welcoming their first child in spring 2019.

Last year the pair flew to Monaco, but it's believed they'll stay in Sandringham this year or closer to home.

Prince William and Kate Middleton

According to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams, Kate and William will likely celebrate the star of 2019 at the Middleton family home in Berkshire.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will no longer be alternating between both the Windsors and the Middletons at Christmas - instead, it's claimed they will only spend Christmas Day with the royals.

So it makes sense that the couple, along with their three children: Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three and eight-month-old Prince Louis, would spend New Year with Kate's family.

Her Majesty and Prince Philip usually remain in Sandringham for New Year celebrations.

According to Richard, other members of the family will be invited and it's likely they will attend the annual New Year’s Day service at St Mary Magdalene Church.

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall

According to Richard, Charles and Camilla could spend New Year's Eve in Scotland.

"The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall reportedly enjoy the New Year in the Scottish Highlands," he said.

"He owns Birkhall on the Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire which is where they spent their honeymoon."
