IT’S been a big year for the royal family – and Kensington Palace posted a video of their 2018 highlights on Twitter.

However, the palace made an error in one of the clips involving Kate Middleton and one of her engagements.

The video showcases the top events and sweet moments from each month this year, and included the Duchess of Cambridge’s first public appearance after returning from maternity leave.

Kensington Palace listed her visit to Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden taking place in September – but it actually happened on October 2.

The visit marked Kate's return to official engagements after the birth of her third child, Prince Louis.

The forest school, which had more than 5,500 visits by schoolchildren from across Westminster and neighbouring boroughs last year, gives inner city children the chance to engage with the natural world.

However, the slight blunder didn’t stop fans from gushing over the video, which included clips from Prince Harry and Meghan’s Australian tour and their royal wedding.

One person wrote: “Lovely memories happy new year one and all and can’t wait for baby Sussex Harry deserves happiness.”

Another commented: “Duchess Catherine gets more beautiful each year, Dukes William & Harry remain relatable & lovable, & Duchess Meghan has been a great addition. I think the new generation of royals is on the right track. The old guard is passing down the mantle well.”

And one said: “Beautiful video and wonderful memories. It was a great year for the Monarchy. Here's to looking for a greater year in 2019.”

The video included clips of the “Fab Four” Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

They are currently all based together at Kensington Palace, but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are due to move out into Frogmore Cottage in Windsor next year, ahead of the birth of their baby.
