Mum uses tomato ketchup to clean the grime off her bathroom drain in minutes – and the photos speak for themselves
SCRUBBING the bathroom drain is often the trickiest part of cleaning the house - what with dirt, grime, hair and sometimes mould to contend with.
But one savvy mum from Australia has come up with the perfect solution - and we can almost guarantee the answer is in your food cupboard.
Sharing her trick in a Facebook cleaning group, the woman revealed she used tomato ketchup to achieve a sparkling clean bathroom drain.
"I let it sit for 10 minutes and wiped it with a microfiber cloth," she wrote.
"I'm pretty happy with the results.
"Might give it one more go."
Other members of the group were blown away by the hack, with several wanting to know how the ketchup achieved such incredible results.
One person put it down to the acids in the sauce, while another suggested adding salt to help exfoliate the dirt.
"It's a mixture of acids in the sauce that bring up the metals so well," they wrote.
It's not the first time an unexpected product has been used as a cleaning hack.
