Meghan Markle reveals she reached out to ‘girl crush’ The Royals star Liz Hurley a year before meeting Prince Harry

MEGHAN Markle has revealed she has a huge "girl crush" on Liz Hurley and reached out to the The Royals actress a year before she met Prince Harry.
Writing on her now-defunct blog The Tig in 2015, the former Suits star gushed about Ms Hurley's infamous low-cut necklines and "high slit" dresses.
Meghan said she has "always loved everything" about Liz and credits the 53-year-old with making her "aspire to act like a lady and feel like a woman".
In a foreword for her Tig Talk interview with Ms Hurley, the Duchess of Sussex, 37, said her crush was sparked after Liz wore her iconic safety pin Versace dress in 1994 to accompany Hugh Grant to the premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral.
"I can’t begin to tell you about my girl crush on Elizabeth Hurley. Well… yes, I can, and I really really want to. So indulge me for a moment," she wrote.
“Maybe it started with that Versace safety pin dress, as it did for the rest of the world.
"Perhaps it was her inherent class and grace, or the dresses in the 90s with the high slit, low neck and oh-so virtuous teeny diamond cross around her neck.
";I wish I could lie and tell you that my 17-year-old self didn’t try to replicate this look for high school prom, but my, oh my, would the photos prove me wrong.
“I have always loved everything about Liz Hurley, and when I realised she was going to be debuting on a new show, The Royals (the first original scripted program for E! under the NBC Universal umbrella with USA network) I had to reach out to her. I had an in!
"And as though I thought I was smitten before, not only did she get back to me – she did so quickly and graciously, whilst also giving some of the cheekiest and most honest answers I’ve had."
She added: "Thanks Liz - for Tig talking with me, and for making me aspire to act like a lady and feel like a woman."
It seems the feeling is mutual, as Liz has described Meghan as "enchanting" and "the nicest girl", reports the .
American soap The Royals, which premiered on E! on March 15, 2015, tells the tale of a fictional British royal family.
Liz plays Queen Helena and appeared in a number of racy scenes, during one of which she was handcuffed to a bed wearing a sexy French maid outfit.
