Meghan Markle will NOT return to Suits as TV executives deny offering multi-million pound charity donation for cameo
It was claimed the Duchess' baby bump could have been written into the script for a two-minute scene
EARLIER this week rumours emerged that Meghan Markle could be returning to Suits for one last time.
It came after sources claimed NBC Universal would pay a million dollar donation to a charity of the Duchess' choice - but now, new reports indicate this isn't the case.
reported that US network NBC was planning a two-minute cameo, with the potential for Meghan's baby bump to be written into the script.
The source said: “No final figure has yet been arrived at but negotiations are likely to be opened in the very near future.
"I’ve heard sums ranging from two to six million being kicked around and that sounds a lot – but it would be one of the biggest marketing coups in TV history.”
However, according to a source speaking to , there are "no plans" for Meghan, 37, to return.
"The show has not made a multi-million dollar charity donation offer to Meghan to return for a cameo," explained the insider.
"There are no plans for her to return to the show."
It was thought Meghan returning to Suits - with a baby bump - could be a great fit for her character Rachel Zane.
In Meghan's last episode of Suits viewers saw Rachel marry law firm partner Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams, who left the show at the same time.
The source added: “We could create a storyline where Rachel and Mike have created new lives for themselves and are starting a family, with Rachel showing an obvious baby bump.
“It would give one or several charities a big boost, portray Meghan as a thoroughly modern royal… and give us one of the biggest ratings blockbusters of our existence.”
While it doesn't look like we'll be seeing a Meghan cameo anytime soon, the Duchess is reportedly expected to become patron of the National Theatre after being seen as a "natural fit" for the role.
