London Fashion Week 2019 – when does it start, what’s the schedule and how do you get tickets?
LONDON Fashion Week started TODAY, with 250 designers ready to showcase their new collections.
Here's more about one of the “Big Four” global fashion weeks and what we can expect to see.
What is London Fashion Week all about and when does it start?
London Fashion Week (LFW) is well known for showcasing and celebrating emerging designers alongside well-established brands.
London Fashion Week 2019 started on Friday, September 13 and end on Tuesday, September 17.
LFW is attended by more than 5,000 press and buyers, and orders placed during the week often exceed £100million.
London Fashion Week is actually a biannual event – meaning there are shows in February and September each year.
And it is one of four major fashion events that take place around the world each year.
The other three cities that make up the “Big Four” alongside London are New York, Milan and Paris.
The event is organised by the British Fashion Council, with the first ever London Fashion Week taking place in October 1983.
What is the schedule?
Shows kick off on Friday, Septemer 13, 2019 - at 8am.
The first show saw Mark Fast's collection on the runway at 9am.
The final show on the first day will begin at 9pm.
Saturday’s schedule will follow a similar time pattern, kicking off at 9.30am, with shows every hour until 9.30pm.
Sunday, September 15, is the day for Britain’s top designers to showcase, with Victoria Beckham and Margaret Howell on the agenda.
Burberry and Christopher Kane will show off their collections on Monday, September 16, while closing day will see shows from London based Bobbly Abley and minimalist designer Charlotte Knowles.
Proceedings will draw to a close shortly after 7pm following the On|Off Presents… showcase of emerging talent.

How do you get tickets?
Tickets for the main shows at London Fashion Week are only issued to press, photographers and buyers following a strict registration process.
However, don’t despair as parts of are accessible to the public.
The London Fashion Week will have six sessions open to the public.
They include catwalks by ALEXACHUNG and House of Holland & self-portrait.
The public can also attend talks by Eva Chen, Laura Brown, Henry Holland, Laura Weird, Billy Porter and Lindsay Peoples Wagner.

There are two categories of tickets for London Fashion Week Festival shows.
The first is known as “Insider” tickets. These cost from £135 and offer the following:
- Access to a designer catwalk show
- Access to BFC Positive Fashion Designer Exhibition

- Access to an industry led Positive Fashion Talk
The other level of ticket available is classed as “Front Row”. These start from £245 and include the following:
- Access to designer catwalk show with a front row seat
- Access to BFC Positive Fashion Designer Exhibition
- Complimentary drink
- Access to the VIP for lounge for duration of session
- Complimentary exclusive London Fashion Week tote bag filled with gifts
- Access to an industry led Positive Fashion Talk – reserved seat at front of room
