PREGNANT Meghan Markle visited a dog charity today, but it wasn’t the pooches that stole the show.

The duchess wore a short grey dress that show off her knees… and one bore a bizarre yet uncanny resemblance to Princess Charlotte, three.

If you look closely at the shots from today’s visit to animal charity Mayhew, the cherub-faced royal’s face appears to be visible on Meghan’s left kneecap.

Typically the duchess wears dresses and skirts that below the knee, so this knee-prominent outfit today was a rare sight for royal fans.

Is this the ultimate tribute to her adorable niece? Once you see it, you can't not see it.

The 37-year-old visited the dog charity today to see how they help improve the lives of animals and people in London.

WHAT IS PAREIDOLIA?

It's not unusual to see faces in everyday objects.

Pareidolia is a psychological phenomenon when you see patterns in random stimulus.

This can lead to people spotting human-like characteristics in objects or shapes.

The name comes from the Greek words para, meaning something faulty or wrong, and the noun eidōlon, meaning shape or image.

A study in Finland found people who are religious or believe in the supernatural are more likely to see faces in lifeless landscapes or objects.

The duchess wore a light H&M ‘Mama’ maternity dress for the visit, pairing it with an Armani coat.

The former American actress has hit the ground running this year after being given her first patronages - including two from the Queen.

The roles, which will see her work with Smart Works, the National Theatre and The Association of Commonwealth Universities, were a vote of confidence from the Monarch after she joined the Royal Family last year.

It comes despite a rocky start to her life as a royal, with the American plagued with speculation she had clashed with Kate Middleton.

Rumours that Duchess of Cambridge was brought to tears during a bridesmaid’s dress fitting for Princess Charlotte were widely circulated last year, while it was claimed staff had nicknamed Meghan Duchess Difficult.

But the mum-to-be has been putting her best foot forward this year, embracing her new role.
