DATING LAME

This Valentine’s Day we share our worst first dates including being thrown up on and a male date turning up in a dress

For Valentine's Day, four women reveal their first date horror stories

IT'S normal to feel nervous about a first date.

There's the pressure of what to wear, the worry of getting broccoli stuck in your teeth and then the stress of deciding whether to swoop or avoid a first kiss.

As Brits up and down the country prepare for romantic dates this Valentine's Day, four women reveal their worst ever experiences.

'He threw up greasy fast food in my lap'

Becky Middleton, 43, a business consultant from Swindon, had a nightmare first date at Alton Towers.

She says: "My friend from work invited me to go to Alton Towers for the day with her and her boyfriend, and she set me up with one of his mates.

We went on a couple of rides and then stopped for a burger lunch at a greasy fast food restaurant, before heading to the big dipper.

As we waited, my date seemed a little distracted and kept asking me how I felt.

I told him I was fine and got on the ride.

As soon as we set off, he started making funny noises, and suddenly turned towards me and shouted: "I don’t feel well!"

With that, he turned towards me, leaned into my lap and threw up all over me.

My jeans, between my legs and my hair were covered in soggy chips - and to make it worse, the wind blew his puke up into my face.

I went to the loos to wash it of but I could do nothing about the smell - I had to remain in my stinking clothes for the rest of the day.

When we were ready to leave my friend’s boyfriend insisted I took off my jeans to sit in his car - I put them in a bag in the boot and sat in my knickers all the way home.

My date held my hand and kept asking if I was okay while my friend and her date kept laughing.

When they dropped me off in my knickers my dad opened the door. He was totally speechless - and furious - and said my date should given me his trousers.

Mum banned me from ever seeing him again."

'He turned up in a wig, dress and false eyelashes'

Beautician Jackie Walker, 46, who is married and lives in Leeds, got more than she bargained for when her date turned up in womens' clothes.

She says: "When I split with my husband eight years ago I swore off men, but as time went on I found it lonely at night and I signed up to a few dating sites.

One gorgeous guy asked me to meet up and said he wanted to take me out for a night I’d never forget.

I agreed to a date - and while I was surprised he suggested a gay club in town, I didn't think anything of it. He knew I like letting my hair down in female-friendly places.

When I arrived I found us a booth, I ordered myself a drink and sat down. After 10 minutes I wondered where he was, so I sent him a text telling him I'd found us a table.

Within seconds a woman starting walking towards me and waving. She had on a long black dress, black wig, and her eyelashes.

I didn’t click for a couple of second that it was my date.

When he sat down, he launched into an intimate spiel about his fetish of dressing up as a woman, and even asked if he could share my clothes.

I said I needed the loo and headed to one near the entrance. I ran for it the minute I was at the door. Thank goodness my dating days are over."

'He text saying I was too annoying'

Teaching assistant Emma Donaldson, 50, who lives alone in Leicester with her two cats, decided to quit the dating game after a series of disaster experiences.

She says: "I’ve had one bad first date after another.

On one first date with a guy I met online, we had a lovely lunch and within an hour we were snogging in the back of his van. Things escalated and he came back to mine.

I don’t know what came over me but we had sex and I fell straight asleep.

When I woke up he had gone.

Unsurprisingly he didn’t want to know afterwards when I tried to contact him, but I just felt lucky he didn't steal anything while I was sleeping.

Last summer, I had been messaging one guy for some time and I thought we had something going on, so we decided to meet.

There was no obvious sexual chemistry when we saw each other but I know that can take time to arrive.

Half an hour in he went to the loo and didn't come back for a while. I began to look around to see if someone had stopped him for a chat, and I even waited outside the loo door.

Finally I checked my phone. He left a message saying 'I’ve left as you’re too annoying'.  I couldn’t believe it! That was the last date I’ve gone on. Friends tell me not to take it personally – but I do."

'I was interrogated by his baby-obsessed mum'

Teacher Joely Rubins, 55, who is married and from Preston, was taken to her date's parents house to get the seal of approval.

She says: "For two years a bloke at work had been asking me out. He was 32 and I was 19 - but I decided to give it a go.

He picked me up and we went for a drive, eventually pulling up in front of this massive house with electric gates. I panicked, but he told me it was his parents' place.

Apparently I had to get the seal of approval from his mother before we could go on the date. It was clear she was after a baby-making machine for her son, and I was drilled CIA style.

Did I drink a lot of alcohol? Did I have any children? Were my periods regular? Did I hear the tick-tock of my biological clock? She all but asked me to get on the table and spread them.

After half an hour of interrogation she finally nodded at her son, and we headed to the poshest restaurant in our neighbourhood for our slap up meal.

We hadn’t started on the prawn cocktail before he asked me when I could move in.

After we finished he drove me home. He parked outside and said he wanted to ask me something.

I assumed he was going to ask whether I wanted a boy or a girl. I’d already decided this date was a one-off.

Instead, he asked to feel my boobs as they were the 'loveliest he had ever seen'. When he was done squidging them, I said good night and got out of the car as fast as I could. Never again!"
