According to , all you need is tin foil.

Add a layer beneath your ironing board cover, and then press your laundry like usual.

The clever household hack will halve the amount of time spent ironing.

This is because aluminium automatically reflects heat and steam  - meaning you won't have to iron both sides of a garment.

We also recently told you another simple trick for coaxing creases out of clothes.

Throw a couple of ice cubes into your tumble dryer with your wrinkled clothes.

Run the machine on its hottest setting for a couple of minutes, take the garments out, shake them and they will be crinkle-free.

According to , this trick has a similar effect to using the steam setting on your iron.

Last month, we revealed how adding vinegar to dirty laundry helps cut drying time by a third.

For the best results, two tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda and two tablespoons of white vinegar should be added to each wash.

Vinegar can also be used to help return faded black clothes to their original shade.

It is a build-up of detergent in the fabric, rather than loss of black dye, which causes them to look more worn.

So soaking the items for a few hours in a sink filled with warm water and a little clear vinegar will do the trick.
