Jameela Jamil slams heavily airbrushed pic of herself with lighter skin and no stretch marks – and says trying to live up to edited snap made her mentally ill

The Good Place actress, 33, came across images from a past photoshoot and shared them online

WHETHER she’s calling out influencers for promoting “nonsense detox” teas or gracing the Golden Globes red carpet in a pair of jeans, it’s no secret that Jameela Jamil is a woman after our own hearts.

And now the Good Place actress, 33, has given us yet another reason to love her by describing airbrushing as “the devil” in a candid social media post.

The former BBC Radio One DJ took to Twitter to share a heavily photoshopped picture of herself from a past photoshoot.

Along with lightening the colour of skin and erasing her stretchmarks, the unnamed publication even airbrushed the star’s knees and ankles before slimming down her arms and legs.

Having come across the photo years later, Jameela – who has spearheaded the body positivity campaign I Weigh – wrote: “I was just doing a new spoof motivation sultry pic and was struck by how heavily edited this picture of me is.

“How dare they? It made me so mentally unwell trying to live up to this image in person. Airbrushing is the damn DEVIL.”

Picking out the areas where she’s been airbrushed, Jameela annotated the photo with comments.

“Where are my titty stretch marks?”, she asked.”I am darker skinned than this. My arm wasn’t this thin.”

Highlighting how both her knees and ankles have been photoshopped within an inch of their lives, Jameela added: “This airbrushing is why women hate their normal knees!

“They even airbrushed my ankles! Imagine thinking something is wrong with ankles?”

Another said Jameela’s comments made her realise why she always thought her knees ‘looked weird’

Unsurprisingly, Jameela’s relatable tweet has racked up more than 32,000 likes.

Praising the actress for her honesty, a fan replied: “So proud of you queen, you truly are slaying the entire universe right now and I’m so glad to see it.”

Replying to the star’s comments about ankles, one user wrote: “As a woman with thick ankles no matter what my weight.

“Thanks to society, I very much can imagine thinking something is wrong about my ankles – still working on those feelings and I’m 38.”

Meanwhile, another replied: “Thank you for pointing that out about knees. Never realised just why I thought mine looked weird.”

Commenting on Jameela’s startling annotations, a third added: “When you really look at this photo thanks to the helpful notes, it all starts to make terrifying sense.

“How are you even starting upright on those tiny jointless ankles?!”

Last year, Jameela labelled Kim Kardashian a “terrible and toxic influence on young girls” for a sponsored post promoting appetite suppressing lollipops.

And earlier this year, the star slammed the “clowns” at Avon for “body shaming” women with their cellulite cream advert.

Her I Weigh Instagram account – which encourages women “weigh” themselves in terms of their achievements and what they value about themselves – has now racked up over 409,000 followers.
