Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will instead base their official household office at Buckingham Palace, and will have a separate communications team to reflect this move.

Kensington Palace said: "The Queen has agreed to the creation of a new Household for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following their marriage in May last year.

“The Household, which will be created with the support of The Queen and The Prince of Wales, will be established in the spring.

“This long-planned move will ensure that permanent support arrangements for The Duke and Duchess's work are in place as they start their family and move to their official residence at Frogmore Cottage."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have appointed Hillary Clinton's campaign advisor Sara Latham as their head of communications, and she will now report directly to the Queen's communications secretary, Donal McCabe.

Sara previously worked at Freuds overseeing global corporate accounts, and she had a particular emphasis on executive thought leadership and purpose-led campaigns.

The Sussexes and Cambridge’s currently head of communications, Jason Knauf, will remain with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in the capacity of senior advisor.
