Bride claimed refund for wedding flowers that never arrived – only to be caught holding the bouquet on Facebook

Jordanne McLaughlin posted a photo of herself with the bunch online

A BRIDE claimed a refund for wedding flowers that never arrived — only to be caught holding the bouquet in social media snaps.

Jordanne McLaughlin was given her £100 back by wedding decor company Forever to Hold.

However, a full year later she was spotted by business co-owner Sarah Weatherill, 34, clutching the same artificial bouquet in a wedding photo set as her Facebook profile picture.

Jordanne told Sarah that the flowers had turned up at a neighbour’s house seven months after they were ordered - and two months after being refunded.

She refused to return the £100 until Sarah threatened to involve the police.

Sarah, who runs the business with Lisa Husband, 46, said she had proof of postage for the bouquet when it was sent in January last year.

But she agreed to the refund to try to preserve the business’s reputation.

As soon it was paid, Jordanne blocked them on social media.

Sarah, from Whitby, North Yorks, said: “I’ve heard of firms scamming brides but never a bride who scams a business.”

Last night Jordanne’s husband Sean, of Port Glasgow, Scotland, said he had consulted a solicitor.
