KNOT HAPPY

Bridezilla blasted for expecting her sister to help pay for the wedding cake and photographer

Fellow brides-to-be were shocked at the woman's outburst

Several pointed out that wedding photographers and cakes do not come cheap

IN some families, it's tradition for the bride's parents to chip in - or even pay - for their daughter's wedding (although these days, this often isn't the case for many modern couples).

But one bride-to-be - whose parents have sadly passed away - has been criticised for expecting her sister to chip in for her wedding.

"How many of you are getting help from family in regards to paying for your wedding?" The bride-to-be wrote on a wedding Facebook group.

"So far it's mainly my fiance paying for everything.

"Both of my parents are gone and my sister is my only living close relative and she hasn't even offered to help.

"She thinks since my fiance has a decent job money wise that we will be financially set... but that's not the case."

The bride went onto explain how guilty she felt that she wasn't able to contribute to the big day as much as her fiance and his family had.

"I feel bad I'm not able to contribute as much as he has and his family already told us they will help out as best they can too," she continued.

"And it's not like she doesn't have funds to help either.

"I'm not saying she would dish out thousands of dollars, but offering to help cover a small cost like my cake or wedding photographer would be a nice gesture."

Fellow brides on the group were utterly horrified at the woman's post, with one asking: "Since when are the cake and the photographer small costs?"

Others agreed, with many calling the bride "entitled".

"I really don't know why people feel like they are fully entitled to the wedding of their dreams," one commented.

"Sometimes all you can afford is what you get.

"It's the marriage that's most important, not the wedding."

One pointed out that it was very sad that the bride's parents were gone, but that she shouldn't put the responsibility of paying for the wedding on her sister.

Another said: "Why do people think anyone else has any obligation to pay for their life choices?"

Many social media users also pointed out that wedding photographers in particular can cost thousands of pounds.
