Prince Harry wanted Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton ‘to become best friends’ but they’re too different, royal expert claims
Author Katie Nicholl confirmed there had been 'tension' between the two duchesses
PRINCE Harry wanted his Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton to be "best friends" after they married but the duchesses are "too different", a royal expert has revealed.
Author Katie Nicholl confirm there had been "tension" between the sisters-in-law, who are both 37, but dismissed rumours of an all-out feud.
: "I had heard that while Harry, 34, was very keen for the two of them to become best friends, there was never that sort of a friendship.
"They quite quickly realised they were two pretty mature women — quite different women — and really the only thing they had in common was they'd married princes."
Katie denied reports of a "catfight" but admitted there's no smoke without fire - and said brothers Harry and Prince William, 36, have had issues as well.
Katie said: "I do think there is some truth to there having been some tension—not just between the duchesses but between the dukes, as well."
She also confirmed reports of an "upset" during Princess Charlotte's dress fitting, which The Sun exclusively revealed "left Kate in tears" back in November.
It's Katie's understanding that Meghan and Kate have come to a mutual agreement to put on a united front, because it's not in their interest to have catfight headlines floating around.
MORE MEGHAN MARKLE
She said they're definitely not BFFs (sorry Harry) but they don't hate each other either.
We're sure a lot of people with a sister-in-law can relate.
