Kate Middleton has secretly recruited former Vogue editor to stay top of the style stakes
The mum-of-three isn't afraid to recycle an old outfit
KATE Middleton has secretly hired a former Vogue editor to help update her wardrobe.
The Duchess of Cambridge is said to be making an effort to look more glamorous, inspired by her A-lister sister-in-law, Meghan Markle.
The 37-year-old is known for her practical mumsy wardrobe, often wearing Sloane Ranger-inspired outfits.
But after the Duchess of Sussex appeared on the scene, the mum-of-three has been trying to keep up in the style stakes.
To help her, Kate's drafted in a former editor of Vogue magazine, Virginia Chadwyck-Healey.
An editor for 12 years before stepping down last year, the 36-year-old – known as Ginnie – has stepped in while Kate’s regular stylist, Natasha Archer, is on maternity leave.
A royal source told : “Ginnie is Catherine’s secret weapon.
“She has made a big difference to the Duchess’s wardrobe for public engagements and has helped give her a whole new sense of confidence.
“Catherine has been really impressed and is very grateful for her help.”
She is thought to the mastermind behind Kate’s recent looks, including her £790 Gucci pussy bow blouse and wide legged trousers, which she wore on a visit to a children’s centre earlier this month.
Ginnie, mum to Nancy, four, and Maggie, two, is an old friend of Prince William and Kate Middleton, with the two women studying history of art at St Andrews together.
That’s where Ginnie, daughter of the third Lord Strathalmond, met her future husband as well, Oliver Chadwyck-Healey.
Their friendship remained strong over the years, with the Chadwyck-Healey’s invited to Kate and Will’s wedding at Westminster Abbey in 2011.

Kates taking risks
By Tracey Lea Sayer, Fabulous Fashion Director
KATE has stuck with the same tried and tested look for the last decade.
Even when Meghan injected her own brand of Hollywood glamour into the royal fashion parade, Kate didn’t have a wobble.
She has always known what suits her and hasn’t been swayed — until now.
Kate’s new style adviser has been challenging her to take a few risks.
Virginia is responsible for Kate’s new-found style confidence and more relaxed look. And wow, does she look killer in that purple Gucci blouse.
I can’t wait to see what else Ginnie has in store for Kate to try out. Hopefully more trousers and maybe even a jumpsuit or two!
