Bridezilla demands £250 in cash off her pal because her ‘miserly gift’ didn’t cover the cost of an invite to her lavish wedding

Despite giving the happy couple a cheque for £150 and a luxury candle, the bride insists the guest still owes her money

WHEN it comes to picking out the perfect wedding present, what do you get the couple who seemingly have it all?

Some money towards their honeymoon? A designer candle perhaps? Well one wedding guest thought she had all her bases covered when she gave both these things to her friend on her special day.

But while most people would be delighted with a £150 cheque and a £55 designer candle, this Bridezilla is now demanding that her friend cough up another £250 to cover the cost of having her at her wedding.

Posting on the Facebook group , the anonymous woman was thrilled when she received a phonecall from her friend while she was on her honeymoon.

She wrote: "I've just hung up the phone from a friend (ex friend now!!) whose wedding was a few weekends ago.

"She had a beautiful wedding, lots of guests, lots of wine and food. There were even fireworks when she and her new hubby left (via a yacht) to go on their honeymoon."

But while she originally thought the bride "was ringing people [to thank] them for coming to her wedding", the user couldn't have been more wrong.

Revealing the real reason the bride was calling to check in, the woman wrote: "She told me that the cost of having my husband and I at her wedding was far more than the miserly gift we gave her."

Describing her friend as having a "good heart" but can sometimes be a little "tone deaf", the woman assumed at first that her present must have gotten lost.

But despite reminding the bride that she'd already spent £205 in total on her wedding, the woman added: "She told me that it wasn't enough and that the venue charge was [£190] per head and so I owed her another [£250] in cash."

What's more, the bride has come up with the figure of £250 because she doesn't count the candle "a real gift".

Insisting that "she can't do anything with it", the bride said the candle "wasn't 'the big one' she wanted" which cost a whopping £115.

Horrified by the phone call, the woman concluded: "I let her nag at me for five minutes because I was speechless... I still am!"

Unsurprisingly, the Bridezilla's behaviour has sparked outrage in the wedding shaming Facebook group - with many pointing out that "she should have booked a smaller wedding if she couldn't afford it".

One user wrote: "Sorry but you can't charge admissions for your wedding. She don't owe the bride s***."

Another added: "I got to weddings for the free food. If someone expects me to basically pay £380 to attend, I better be personally cooked for and served by Gordon Ramsey. Screw that."

Jumping to the woman's defence, a third wrote: "Why would people expect you to pay a huge amount just to cover the costs of their extravagant party?

"They invited you - I think £150 and a thoughtful gift is more than generous."

For more Bridezilla horror stories, this bride has been slammed for moaning about her cancer-stricken maid of honour "not taking part"; in her wedding activities.

And this bridezilla has sparked outrage with her "aggressive" save-the-date cards that demands guests "save their pennies" and take two weeks off work.

Plus another bride-to-be has been slammed for refusing to cater for vegans and has asked them to ";bring their own dinner".
