Woman, 33, blasts ‘racist creep’ who messaged her on Plenty Of Fish saying he ‘doesn’t like non whites’
Sophia Anwar, from Clydebank in West Dunbartonshire has reported the man to the police
A WOMAN has blasted a racist dating site troll who told her he "doesn't like non whites" and "sticks to his own race".
The account sent the hateful messages to Sophia Anwar, 33, on the Plenty Of Fish site out of the blue having had no contact from her.
The stunned victim, from near Clydebank in West Dunbartonshire, took to social media to hit out at the unprovoked abuse - and says she has reported the man to Plenty Of Fish and the police.
A screen grab shows the man initiating contact, saying: "Sorry I don't like non whites. Lol."
He then added: "I stick to my own race thanks very much."
Sophia, who works in a bank, was so upset she left her work early - before delivering a scathing comeback a few hours later.
She said: "1) I didn't make any contact with you.
"2) With a face like that you really shouldn't narrow your choices as you'll be lucky if anyone fancies you.
"3) Your opinions are outdated and primitive. Tbf I wouldn't expect anything else from a neanderthal like you.
"4) Good going in having pics in your uniform on here. I've shared your comments and pics on social media.
"It won't be long until your employer sees it."
Sophia told the Scottish Sun: "Initially it was shock and horror as I had never had any contact with him before.
"After the shock passed I became upset and had to leave work early.
"On my way home I saw all the support from the post and it was empowering and I sent the reply to him."
Highlighting the issue on Facebook, she said: "For those who think these things no longer happen."
Sophia was backed up by social media users who slammed the horrid messages.
One said: "Somebody should tell the d***head white women won't want him either with a s****y attitude like that."
Another said: "That is appalling! What a horrible person. Absolute a***hole."
Another added: "What a complete bellend. No wonder he is single."
A Plenty Of Fish spokesperson confirmed the account had now been banned.
They told Fabulous Online: "At Plenty Of Fish, we care deeply about our community, and work to ensure the safety and security of all who encounter our platform.
"We have a number of systems and preventative processes in place designed to help support and protect our members, and a zero-tolerance policy for anyone reported for these types of incidents on Plenty Of Fish.
"We have now located the user’s profile and the account has been banned.
"We encourage users to report inappropriate behaviour so we can take appropriate actions, which can include removing them from our platform as soon as possible.
"Reporting a user for inappropriate conduct is both straightforward and important, and can be done on the POF app by clicking 'Report User' on the drop-down menu when viewing the profile they wish to report.
"On the web, members can find the 'Report User' button at the very bottom of the profile they wish to report."
