Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘plan to take Baby Sussex to Africa at just six months old’
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to make their first official trip to the continent in October, according to new reports
MEGHAN Markle plans to take Baby Sussex on their first trip to Africa when the tot is just six months old, according to new reports.
Most kids don't even have a passport at that age, but the 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex and husband Prince Harry, 36, could make their child one of the youngest ever to go on a royal tour.
Kate Middleton and Prince William took future king George on his first trip to New Zealand at just eight months old, in 2014.
While Princess Diana also took Harry away at six months - although his was a much shorter flight to Venice, Italy, in 1985.
A royal source told the proposed Africa tour, requested by the government, has been scheduled for two weeks in October.
The source added: "They hope the royal baby will be with them but will make a decision nearer the time.
"Potentially, Meghan and the baby could do some, if not all, of the trip."
The Sun revealed last week that Meghan and Harry plan to move to Africa for four months of the year, to carve out their own unique role among the royals.
They are expected to focus on education, conservation and youth empowerment on the extended trips.
It's not yet known which countries the Duke and Duchess will visit, but they are expected to include Commonwealth nations.
The couple have previously travelled to Lesotho, Malawi, South Africa and Zambia.
They famously spent their first holiday camping under the stars in Botswana in 2016 and returned for Meghan's 36th birthday in 2017.
Diana and Charles were the first royals to take their kids abroad at a young age - with a nine-month-old William visiting Australia and New Zealand in 1983.
The Queen tended to leave the kids home in Britain, with her mother, during her royal tours with Prince Philip.

She famously went on a six-month Commonwealth tour without the kids shortly after her coronation, when Charles was just five and Anne three years old.
Piers Morgan previously blasted Meghan and Harry for ‘wasting taxpayers money on Africa move’ to escape ‘rift’ with Kate and Wills.
While one etiquette expert thinks Meghan will chose an African middle name for her first child, in a break from tradition.
