Prince William says the public will know when Baby Sussex is born before he does because he ‘doesn’t have his phone on him’

A well-wisher asked Prince William for an update on Baby Sussex

WITH Meghan Markle due to give birth any day now the public is desperate for an update on the arrival of the royal baby.

And one plucky royal fan decided to go straight to the source, asking Prince William for insider info on when we can expect to see Baby Sussex.

The Duke of Cambridge was visiting Christchurch, paying tribute to the victims of the mosque shootings, and was asked about his brother’s baby during a walkabout on Saturday.

According to a well wisher asked: “Any sign of the royal baby?”

William replied: “I haven't got my phone on me—I have no idea. You guys will find out before I do at this rate.”

It comes as insiders claim that Meghan's due date is today after the couple announced earlier this month that they would be keeping the birth of their first child private.

William also reportedly joked about his own children, when he was asked whether he was suffering from jet lag.

“What jet lag? I’ve got three children now. Jet lag doesn’t happen” he told the crowds.

He made the comments during his two day visit to New Zealand where he commemorated the victims of the attack which killed 50 people last month.

It's not the first time Prince William has visited the country, having flown to New Zealand soon after the devastating February 2011 quake.

The visit saw him lay a wreath in Auckland to commemorate New Zealand and Australia’s war dead as part of Anzac Day.

William attended the service with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and placed the wreath on behalf of the Queen.

Last week we saw William and Kate celebrate the first birthday of their youngest son, Prince Louis, who turned one on April 23.

To mark the occasion the couple released three new portraits of the adorable tot, all taken by his doting mum Kate.

The stunning shots show the fifth in line to the throne playing in the garden of the family's Norfolk home, Anmer Hall.

In other royal news we revealed how Meghan and Harry “plan to take Baby Sussex to Africa at just six months old.”

And one etiquette expert thinks Meghan will chose an African middle name for her first child, in a break from tradition.
