Meghan and Prince Harry will shield Archie from the public eye as a private citizen
NEW parents Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are thought to be planning on shielding their son from the public eye as much as possible.
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is the latest royal to be added to the famous family, but despite being seventh in line to the throne it’s thought the public won’t see much of him.
It’s widely thought he won’t be made a prince like his cousins, nor will he take his father’s secondary title, the Earl of Dumbarton.
And he won’t be a lord either, instead styled as Master Mountbatten-Windsor.
By making him a private citizen, it’s thought Prince Harry will be able to control his level of exposure and shield him from public scrutiny.
It's in stark contrast to Kate Middleton and Prince William’s three children, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte, who have had very visible childhoods.
It’s thought Prince Harry, 34, is wary of intrusion into his son’s life, partly due to the interest which surrounded his mum, Princess Diana.
The source said that privacy was more important to the new dad “than to almost any other member of the Royal Family”.
Prince Harry and Meghan have already been setting the tone for access to their son, starting with the 37-year-old shunning the post-birth photocall.
Meghan waited for two days before presenting her son the world, in a highly controlled set-up at Windsor Castle.
Archie was born on May 6 at 5:26am, weighing 7lbs 3oz, but few other details are known about the royal's birth.
So far the couple haven’t disclosed exactly where Archie was born, although it’s thought to have been at the £15,000-a-night Portland Hospital.
And while a royal source confirmed his birth would be “registered in the usual way”, it’s believed the couple won’t release it, unlike the duke and Duchess of Cambridge who released all of their children’s.
Despite plans to keep Archie shielded from public life, the Sussex's are planning on taking their son on his first official foreign tour in October, to Africa.
Plus new dad Harry is said to be sharing the load with Meghan and changing nappies.
And Meghan's mum Doria Ragland, who is said to be "overjoyed" by the arrival of her first grandchild, is currently staying with the couple.
Meghan's dad, Thomas, who has been frozen out by Meghan, spoke of his pride at the birth of the baby - his sixth grandson.
