Meghan Markle lookalike running to be the new mayor of Madrid
MEGHAN Markle may be enjoying her maternity leave at home in Frogmore Cottage with baby Archie - but it now appears the Duchess has an incredible new lookalike who is running to be the new mayor of Madrid.
With her similar sophisticated sense of style and dark brown hair, politician Begona Villacis, 40, has drawn comparisons with the Duchess of Sussex throughout her electoral campaign.
And weirder still, the mayoral candidate gave birth to her daughter exactly 11 days after Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born.
Last Sunday, Begona was pictured pushing her newborn daughter in a pram while wearing a white double-breasted trenchcoat which looked like it could have been plucked straight from the Duchess' wardrobe.
The timeless garment looks super similar to the structured white dress Meghan wore for her first photocall with baby Archie earlier this month.
But a keen interest in politics, a savvy sense of style and two newborn babies aren't the only thing these two women have in common.
The Spanish politician appears to have been taking style notes from Meghan Markle throughout her pregnancy
Yes Begona even tied the knot with her husband Antono Suarez-Valdes on the exact same day as Meghan and Prince Harry last year.
Unsurprisingly, the mother-of-three is used to being compared to the Duchess and tweeted last year: "Between Buckingham Palace and the City Hall, I am sorry but I am going to stay in Madrid."
During her election campaign, the politician has also commented: "People always stop me in the street to ask me if I am Meghan.
"It can be very funny sometimes. My daughters tease me about it a lot."
In her most recent Meghan-inspired outfit, the politician - who stood as the mayoral candidate for the Spanish centre-right party Ciudadanos - was photographed as she cast her vote in Spain's local, regional and European Parliament elections.
Following the elections, the three parties - including the Ciudadanos - have joined up to govern Madrid while the mother-of-three continues her campaign to become mayor.
