JUNE marks the start of Pride Month in many places across the world.
But what is Pride Month, and how will it be celebrated in 2022? Here's what you need to know.
What is Pride Month?
Every June the LGBT community celebrates Pride in a number of different ways around the world.
Parades are a prominent feature of Pride month, and across the world cities host street parties, community events, poetry readings, public speaking, street festivals and educational sessions.
Pride is also used as an opportunity to peacefully protest and raise political awareness of current issues facing the LGBT community.

When is Pride Month 2022?
Pride month normally occurs every June.
London Pride, which is the UK's biggest pride festival was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, as was Manchester Pride.
But this year, in-person celebrations are back.
The celebration started on June 1, 2022, and end on June 30, 2022.
How will Pride be celebrated this year?
There are numerous events taking place across the country to celebrate, with pride events taking place in cities across the UK.
In the US, New York's Pride march will begin on June 26, 2022 at noon at 25th Street and 5th Ave. and continue until the Stonewall National Monument and the New York City AIDS Memorial, with its final destination in Chelsea at 16th Street and 7th Ave.
