Girl, two, tries to fix the ‘Dumb and Dumber’ haircut given by her mum – by chopping fringe off herself

A MUM who accidentally gave her daughter a "Dumb and Dumber" bowl haircut has revealed how the "sassy" tot chopped off the fringe in a bid to fix the dodgy do herself.

Becci Taylor, 28, from Haywards Heath, West Sussex, had tried to trim two-year-old Lottie's hair while she was in the bath a fortnight ago - but she quickly regretted her decision.

The mum-of-two explained she knew she'd gone too short after the first snip, but was left with no choice but to carry on cutting the short fringe.

And she and husband Luke Taylor, 30, were left in hysterics as their little one was left resembling Jim Carrey's Dumb and Dumber character Lloyd Christmas.

While Lottie initially insisted she loved the look, Becci found her in the early hours having decided she could do a better job than her mum.

The tot had crept out of bed to grab scissors from the drawer and had left her hair scattered across the floor after hacking away the middle section of her fringe.

When university student Becci tried to tell off the two-year-old, sassy Lottie simply told her parents she had made herself "more beautiful".

Becci said: "Lottie's fringe was getting really long and in her eyes, so while she was in the bath one evening I thought I would cut her hair.

"I've cut her fringe before but not that short - but she was swimming around in the bath as I tried to make the cut, and straight away I knew it was too short but I had to go with it.

"I couldn't stop laughing - she really did look like the character from Dumb and Dumber. I sent a picture to my husband and he just replied, 'what have you done?'"

Lottie at first seemed proud of her mums DIY hairdo, sporting it for nursery that day and telling everyone how "beautiful"; her new hair looked.

But it didn't last for long, and Becci, who is just glad the youngster didn't injure herself, has locked the scissors away to prevent another impromptu trim.

She continued: "Lottie had got up in the early hours and decided to cut her own hair. She cut off a big chunk right in the middle of her fringe.
"I think she was trying to make it better, like she was thinking she could do a better job than me. But now her Dumb and Dumber haircut is even worse.

"I told her off and said it was really naughty, but she told me she wanted to look more beautiful. She loves it and is really proud of herself.

"She has told everyone about cutting her own hair - she is such a character and very sassy - and everyone thought it was hilarious."
