Boy, 12, leaves a heartwarming note asking ‘Does it matter?’ on his mum’s bathroom scales after noticing she was weighing herself daily

A MUM has shared the heartwarming note her son left on the bathroom scales after he started noticing she weighed herself every morning.

Kelly McCarron, from Perth, Australia, had been trying to slim down alongside husband Ruairi, 37, and checked her weight every day to ensure she was on track.

The couple have been attempting to fast for hours a day, and only eating healthy food, in order to shed pounds in time for the school holidays.

But the mum-of-two was surprised when her son Jack, 12, left her a note on the scales that totally changed her feelings towards her weight.

Jack wrote on a piece of paper "Does it matter?", before leaving it for his mum to find after spotting she was stepping on the scales more frequently than normal.

She explained: "I just wanted to lose some weight to get back to my old self, but whenever I weighed myself I noticed that I wasn't feeling great about my body."

Since Jack left the note Kelly has started monitoring her weight loss journey in pictures rather than by numbers.

";I take pictures of my body to see the progression now rather than religiously weighing myself," the 35-year-old added.

"Sometimes my daughter Ayla, 8, used to step on the scale and I'd remind her she didn't need to weigh herself - the note from Jack made me realise I should take my own advice."

Posting the note on Facebook, hundreds of women were touched by the youngster advice, and Kelly's post has since been liked by over 1,000 people.

"His note has really helped me feel better about myself, and remind me I don't need to lose weight and I should focus on a healthier lifestyle," she concluded.

"There is no need for me to beat myself up and step on the scales daily - and I shared it in case there was another woman out there who needed to see it."
