IT'S no secret that Meghan Markle is a style icon - and it seems even Melania Trump is a huge fan of the Duchess' wardrobe.
The First Lady, 49, has been spotted wearing some very familiar looks during her and husband Donald's tour to the UK, with some of her outfits almost identical to ones worn by 37-year-old Meghan.
According to Fabulous fashion expert Tracey Lea Sayer, Melania has even earned herself the title of "First Lady of Fashion" during her trip to the UK.
"Melania has worn a range of designers from Burberry to Celine and Dior and seems to have tailored her wardrobe perfectly for the event," Tracey explained.
"One thing that has struck me is that she has very similar fashion taste to the Duchess of Sussex.
"Both ladies like a clean line and a minimal ‘American’ style look."
Cape Dress by Meg's designer
- Givenchy Sequinned Cape-Sleeve Wool-Crep Gown, £5,610 from Matches -
During Meghan and Harry's time in Fiji, the Duchess of Sussex wore a £1,095 blue cape gown by Safiyaa for a state dinner hosted by the president of the South Pacific nation, Jioji Konrote.
And this week, Melania opted for an almost-identical design in red.
The First Lady wore the £5,610 vibrant dress - designed by Givenchy - for a dinner at the US ambassador's home.
The extravagant gown is perhaps the most obvious nod to Meghan, especially since it was created by Meghan Markle's wedding dress designer.
My Fair Lady
Meghan wowed at Ascot last year when she wore a Givenchy shirt dress with handkerchief hem, black waist belt and lace detail.
The bespoke, custom-made style is remarkably similar to Melania's Dolce & Gabbana midi dress - complete with navy blue belt - which she wore this week.
She teamed the stunning style with navy heels and a wide brimmed hat by Hervé Pierre.
Both women were channelling style icon Audrey Hepburn, who made the style famous in the classic film My Fair Lady.
According to Tracey, while Melania’s dress is a nod to 80s power dressing, Meghan’s frock has the same two-tone vibe with a "slightly floatier feel".
Hats off!
- Philip Treacy Slice Straw Hat, £990 from Net-A-Porter -
It seems both Meghan and Melania are fans of a Philip Treacy 'slice' hat.
Meghan wore the natural straw style - which was custom made - this time last year while celebrating the Queen's birthday at Trooping The Colour.
And Melania is also a fan of the designer and wore a very similar cream style - believed to be from the SS19 collection - for the D-Day 75th anniversary commemorations.
"Hats of to both ladies for sporting these super-cool ‘flying saucer’ shaped hats," said Tracey. Both ladies complemented the hats with chic up-dos.
Shift in style
Meghan opted for a white shift dress by little-known Australian brand Karen Gee, on the first day of her and Harry's royal tour to Oz last October.
The £990 crisp style oozes elegance, and it seems Melania has been taking a leaf out of Meghan's book, after she wore a custom-made sleeveless Dior gown for a white-tie state banquet at Buckingham Palace this week.
"These simple off-white column dresses cut without sleeves are a classic look for both day and evening," says Tracey.
Creme de la cream
Meghan was spotted wearing a pink, Burberry trench coat during a walkabout in New Zealand with Prince Harry.
The £1,880 silk style featured puff sleeves and is similar in structure to a style worn by Melania during day two of the state visit.
The First Lady opted for a Celine trench coat for a visit to Downing Street, which she teamed with black flats and a crocodile Birkin bag - thought to be worth around £25-30k.
"Melania’s utilitarian style coat is structured and neatly belted giving a formal feel, while Meghan’s more casual look is less formal - but both women seem to love tonal dressing," explained Tracey.
