Model who was slammed for full makeup labour shots posts defiant naked snap of her ‘real’ post-baby body
AN Instagram model who was criticised for posting images of herself wearing a full face of makeup while in labour has shared a "real" photo of her post-baby body.
Australian influencer Hannah Polite, 27, became the subject of a social media storm earlier this week when she shared a photo of herself with perfectly styled hair and heavy makeup before giving birth to her second child.
Wearing a grey bodycon dress, Hannah was pictured with her husband Grant Small and their daughter Evaliah as they appeared to leave for the hospital.
The family-of-three were stood in front of a letterboard which read: "Woohoo. Mama is in labour & baby is nearly here!"
However, Hannah's 1.3 million followers were quick to accuse Hannah of staging the photo and said it was a "bizarre" and "outlandish" thing to do in the throws of labour.
Now, the influencer has shared another, more relatable, photo of her post-baby body since welcoming her son Arlo four days ago.
In an attempt to be "real" with her followers, Hannah posted two naked before-and-after photos of herself at 38 weeks pregnant in comparison to just 24 hours after she gave birth.
Opening up in the heartfelt caption, the mum-of-two said sharing the images was "a little confronting" but she wanted to celebrate how "amazing" the human body is.
She wrote: "I want to be as real as possible with you all and share my post partum body journey exactly how it is."
In reference to the second photo, Hannah said: "I was tired, pale and a little sore but so proud of what I'd just achieved the day before.
"The human body is so amazing and I'm so thankful that mine was able to grow, birth and now nurture my boy."
However, the model says she's in no rush to "bounce back" to her extremely toned pre-pregnancy physique.
She added: "I will just be focusing on my family and my new baby, not exercising for at least 6 weeks."
Hannah even joked that her daughter Evaliah "has already asked why mama's belly button 'looks funny' and why the skin on my belly is soft."
But the mum insists that her daughter "knows that it's because my body created a beautiful life and that's bloody incredible."
Unsurprisingly, Hannah's followers were quick to praise the new mum for her relatable post.
One replied: "I don't have kids but I think these types of posts on social media are SO important for women. Thank you."
Another added: "THIS IS SO IMPORTANT. Thank you so much for sharing and keeping it real, you don't know the number of new mums that you've brought comfort with this post."
Meanwhile, a third wrote: "Amazing. Nothing more beautiful than keeping it real."
