Meghan Markle’s secret ‘dearest UK friend’ revealed as very private publicist who works for David Beckham
THE Duchess of Sussex's most trusted British friend and 'rock' has been revealed as a publicist who works for David Beckham.
Izzy May, 40, is thought to be one of Meghan Markle's closest confidantes since the American Royal moved to the UK two years ago, having been introduced by mutual friend Markus Anderson, a director at exclusive member's club Soho House.
Until now, the private publicist's relationship with Meghan has been kept under wraps - with both known to shun social media and with the Duchess keeping her aides close to her chest.
But a source revealed to the that while their friendship is very much 'under the radar', the pair spend plenty of time together in private.
The source explained: "While they keep their relationship very quiet, Izzy is one of Meghan's closest and dearest friends and she values her friendship so very much.
"She helped Meghan adjust to lift in London when she moved here, and Meghan relied on her a lot. They totally support each other and, like any other female friends, enjoy social activities together."
Private publicist Izzy attended Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry last May alongside Markus Anderson, who arranged the couple's first date at his A-list establishment.
And her budding relationship with the Duchess was displayed as Izzy was given pride of place in the second row at the nuptials - in front of Serena Williams, Oprah Winfrey and the Clooney's.
First working for London PR agency Freuds in 2001, Izzy began mixing in celebrity circles after becoming friends with Soho House owner Nick Jones, who is married to TV presenter Kirsty Young.
From there, she was appointed as head of communications by luxury fashion brand Burbery, which employs Romeo and Brooklyn Beckham.
After working with his sons, Izzy became close with former England captain David Beckham, and now acts as the chief marketing director for his company DB Ventures.
David and Victoria Beckham also attended Meghan and Harry's wedding last year, perhaps introduced to the young Royal couple by friends Markus and Izzy.
And since, Meghan has been spotted sporting a number of ex-Spice Girl Victoria's designs, as well as keeping close with Soho House owner Nick Jones, flying out to Amsterdam to visit his latest branch.
Izzy May declined to comment on speculation over her relationship with the Duchess of Sussex.
