Meghan Markle jokes ‘it’s a miracle’ her bridesmaids and pageboys – including Prince George and Princess Charlotte – behaved on her wedding day

MEGHAN Markle claims it was a “miracle” that all of her bridesmaids and pageboys behaved themselves at her royal wedding.

The Duchess of Sussex, who married Prince Harry last May, had a total of ten children under the age of seven in her wedding party who accompanied her down the aisle of St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

And she and Harry have opened up about the little ones as part of an exhibit showcasing their wedding outfits.

The Royal Wedding: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex is currently on show at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland having previously been held at Windsor Castle.

As part of the exhibit Harry and Meghan chose to personally record the audio guide where they opened up about details of their big day, reports.

Speaking of their wedding party Harry says: “We had ten bridesmaids and pageboys under the age of seven, which everybody says is impossible to have them behaving, but they did it!"

With Meghan adding: "It was a miracle!"

The couple also revealed that Prince George’s pageboy outfit, a replica of Harry’s uniform, was embroidered with his initials GC while Charlotte had hers on the soles of her shoes, with Meghan describing them as a “beautiful keepsake.”

Both the young royals’ outfits have also gone on display to the public at Holyrood house, with the exhibit running until October 6.

The couple also discuss the lead up to their big day, which took a lot of organisation.

Meghan says: “A great level of detail went into the planning of our wedding day. We knew how large the scale of the event would be, so in making choices that were really personal and meaningful, it could make the whole experience feel intimate."

Harry also explains his choice behind the Blues and Royals cavalry uniform, revealing that he sees it as one of the “smartest” uniforms.

The bridal party outfits went on display in Scotland for the very first time on Friday last week.

Focused around the pièce de résistance of Meghan's iconic gown, with its boat neckline and tapered waist, it's not to be missed if you're a fan of the Duchess.

HOW MUCH DID THE ROYAL WEDDING COST?

Weddings can be expensive – but Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s nuptials reportedly cost a staggering £32million.

The experts at the company Bridebook say the bulk of the costs were spent on security - but over a million alone was spent on the flowers, food, drinks and Meghan's bespoke gown.

Some of the key costs included:

  • £90,000 for 20 silver-plated trumpets that will announce the event
  • £50,000 on the lemon elderflower cake from Violet Bakery in East London
  • £110,000 on flowers to adorn the aisles of St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle and St George’s Great Hall
  • £30million on security measures
  • £300,000 to £400,000 on Meghan’s dress

Prince Harry's Household Cavalry uniform, which was specially created by tailors at Dege and Skinner on Savile Row, London, will stand proud next to Meghan's dress.

While it isn't thought to be the real thing that he wore on the day, Harry is said to have loaned an identical uniform to the Palace of Holyroodhouse for the exhibition.
