Royal matchmaker who set up Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finds love with restaurant manager – but their own wedding is ‘just a question of time’
WHEN Prince Harry and Meghan Markle first got engaged, the world eagerly wanted to know how exactly they had met.
They revealed in a BBC interview in 2017, on the day they announced they were to wed, that they had been "set-up" by a "mutual friend" - and now their matchmaking pal has found love herself with a restaurant manager.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who recently welcomed baby son Archie Harrison, went on a blind date in early July 2016.
Now, Violet von Westenholz - who attended the couple's 2018 wedding - could be heading down the aisle herself.
The 36-year-old PR director at Ralph Lauren is dating Archie Seymour, 30, the openings manager at restaurant Chotto Matte in London’s Soho.
She is now eight months pregnant with their first child.
Archie told the that while the couple aren't yet engaged, "it’s all a question of time".
Violet is the daughter of Prince Charles' friend Baron Piers von Westenholz, a former Olympic skier.
Reports that she was the royal matchmaker first started circulating after Harry and Meghan's first interview following their engagement.
"We were introduced actually by a mutual friend," Harry said.
During the same interview, Meghan insisted she didn't know much about her future husband before their first date.
"Because I’m from the States, you don’t grow up with the same understanding of the royal family," she said.
"I didn’t know much about him, so the only thing that I had asked [our mutual friend] when she said that she wanted to set us up, was, 'Well is he nice?' Cause if he wasn't kind, it just didn’t seem like it would make sense."
She added: "We met for a drink. Then I think very quickly into that we said, 'Well what are we doing tomorrow? We should meet again.'"
