EXTREME ripped denim is a fashion trend that's taken both our wardrobes and social media feeds by storm over the past couple of years.

But while we've all dabbled with a ripped knee or a distressed denim jacket at one point or another, PrettyLittleThing has taken matters to all new extremes with their new shredded jean shorts.

  • Black Shelby Bum Rip High Waisted Denim Short, £13 from PrettyLittleThing -

And when we say shredded, we mean it in the most literal sense.

Although PrettyLittleThing's daring design might look like any other pair of high-waisted black shorts from the front,  the back is an entirely different story.

With three perfectly placed rips, these strangely shredded shorts leave the bottom of your bum totally exposed.

But according to PrettyLittleThing, this "contemporary frayed hem" will "add some serious attitude" to your outfit.

But from an entirely practical standpoint, we can't help but wonder about the questionable tanlines you're bound to be left with afterwards.

Not to mention how uncomfortable these shorts would be just to sit down in.

However, if you're somehow tempting by the daring design - u okay hun? - these shorts are currently reduced to just £13 in the sale.

Now if only we could find something to cover those awkwardly placed rips...

In more bonkers fashion news, you can now buy a cheeky kiss-print bikini which look like a giant pair of lips.

And Fashion Nova has been mocked for selling bum-flashing cow print trousers "which look like a Halloween costume".

Plus this bride has been mocked for "hideous" home adjustments to a $1 wedding dress she "bought from a jumble sale".
