Mortified mum asks Sainsbury’s to change their sea life-print nappies after daughter, 2, says her sister ‘has crabs’

AS we're sure all parents will agree, kids only ever seem to come out with their weirdest and wackiest lines whenever they're in public. Right?

While one mum who knows what it's like to be regularly red-faced in public is Fran Harvey - a mum-of-two from Shropshire.

Fran's oldest child Mila has a slight fascination with her five-month-old sister Violet's sea-life nappies.

Along with cartoons of sea life and starfish, the Sainsbury's nappies also feature a cute crab pattern - something two-year-old Mila loves to shout from the rooftops.

Although Fran is a big fan of the nappies - after all, they're affordable, well-fitting and don't leak - the mum-of-two is now seriously considering changing brand as Mila delights in telling everyone that "Violet's got crabs".

Addressing Sainsbury's directly in a Facebook post, Fran wrote: "Why put animal crabs on your nappies? I am now faced with embarrassment when I change my baby's nappies in public changing rooms.

"My toddler thinks it's great you have chosen the animal crabs and find it great to go around saying 'Violet got crabs', 'Violet got crabs in her nappy' and also 'Mummy gave Violet crabs in nanny' (Direct quotes from a two-and-a-half-year-old)."

Trying to convey the gravity of the situation, Fran added: "You can only begin to imagine the funny looks I've received. You could have chosen any cute fluffy animal to put on your nappy but you chose the crab..."

I mean, she definitely does have a point.

Imploring the brand to help her out, she added: "Have you thought about changing the animal for future nappies?"

Sarcastically thanking Sainsbury's for the awkwardness they've caused her, Fran signed off as "an embarrassed crab-hating mum of two."

While we can only hope for Fran's sake that Sainsbury's assess their questionable design, on the plus side her post has racked up more than 2,000 likes on Facebook.

Sharing in the mum's pain, one user replied: "I have the EXACT issue! [My daughter] is forever saying her siblings got crabs in her nappy!

"Why oh why can't toddlers get ON and IN the right way round!"

Adding her own mortifying story into the mix, another wrote: "My little boy shouting in the ASDA toilets, 'mum why are you peeing our your bum?'

"I'm like, 'I'm not', and he shouts again, 'yes you are I can hear it!'"

In more parenting news, a mum has claimed bathing her daughter in breastmilk to treat her eczema but other parents aren't convinced.

And Nutella and Cyanide are among the most daft baby names parents have been BANNED from giving their kids.

Plus parents are raving about the £6.99 "pee cups" you can buy on Amazon for when your kids need the loo on long car journeys.
