A SAVVY bride has revealed how she spent just £2,500 on her dream wedding day and cutting down the cost of luxury by ordering everything from Amazon - including her dress.
Ashley Hicks, from North Carolina, USA, said 'I do' to husband Tre on June 8 and vowed not to start their new life together in debt by avoiding big expenses on a lavish wedding.
With the average cost of a wedding tipping the scales at more than £30k in her area, Ashley and Tre were determined 'not to do that' - committing to spend as little as possible.
Amazon was recommended to the pair, who got engaged in February, by their wedding planner, who championed the site for affordable deals that will also arrive in time for their wedding day.
And while Ashley went to local stores to get inspiration for the big day, she turned to the online retailer to find similar yet cheaper alternatives.
Ashley told : "We bought my dress, shoes, bridesmaid dresses, their shoes, their jewellery, my husband's suspenders, our tables settings, the plates - it was a long list.
"We had about 150 guests for the day and I probably spent about $3,000 (£2,410) total including our food, all the attire, decorations and everything."
While most brides would want to get their wedding dress from an expensive boutique, Ashley was happy to cut costs even further by turning to the online retailer once more.
She told ABC that she found her dream dress in a local store - but with the £800 price tag putting her off, she found a dupe of the style online that could be custom-made.
"It was a cute dress but I knew what I wanted - I wanted mermaid and I wanted lace," she added, revealing a dressmaker in China was happy to recreate her dream gown for a fraction of the cost.

"It came, I put it on and it fit perfectly," Ashley explained of the dress, which cost her a total of £70. "It was everything I wanted."
The newlywed is keen to advise other brides-to-be not to spend too much money on their big day, and credits Amazon for her successful wedding.
She concluded: "You don't have to spend all of your money on a wedding. You don't have to get into get for a wedding. Amazon is amazing."
