Mum transforms her boring garden shed into a giant ladybird blackboard for her kids – and it cost £9 from Wilko
A CLEVER mum has revealed how she made her children a giant garden chalkboard for under a tenner.
Gemma-Louise Farr shared a snap of her handiwork on Facebook group , run by money-saving expert Holly Smith.
Gemma explained that she used Wilko's chalk paint to create the drawing surface, covering almost the entire side wall of a shed.
She'd added a spotty ladybird-style design along the top and bottom.
Captioning the image, she wrote: "Can highly recommend Wilko's chalk paint. For under £9 we have made the shed into a giant ladybird chalkboard.
"The kids love it!"
Other members of the group were impressed with the results - the post has since racked up 1.3k likes and over 150 comments.
One said: "My grandchildren love drawing on the patio with their chalk. This is a great idea. Thanks for sharing."
Other messages read: "Looks great!" and: "That's an amazing idea."
Don't have a shed in your garden? Some suggested fashioning a chalkboard out of a fence, garage door or wooden bench.
- Black Quick Dry Matt Blackboard Paint, £7 from Wilko -
Gemma didn't tell us exactly which paint she used, but Wilko's Black Quick Dry Matt Blackboard Paint has dozens of five star reviews online.
It's just £7, which would have left her with a couple of quid to pick up a red tester pot for the edges.
Feeling inspired? You know where to head.
