What is the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and when is it?
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is considered to be the world's largest arts festival.
Dating back to 1947, the event as been called the "most famous celebration of the arts and entertainment in the world".
Audiences can enjoy theatre, comedy, dance, circus, cabaret, children's shows, physical theatre, musicals, opera, music, spoken word, exhibitions and events.
This year's festival will kick off on August 2, and will run for a whopping 24 days up until August 26.
However, if you're an Edinburgh resident, you have the chance to bag Fringe tickets for just a fiver.
Assembly are giving people living in the city the chance to secure entry to dozens upon dozens of their top shows for discounted prices, reported .
The discounted tickets are only available at their box office on George Square for performances from 31 July to 4 August.
All you need to do is take along some photographic ID and proof of address.
Anyone whose postcode starts with EH qualifies, and each customer can get two tickets per performance using the discount.
Who's performing?
Among the hundreds of amazing shows, the most highly-anticipated ones are Al Murray: Landlord of Hope and Glory, Ed Byrne: If I'm Honest, Frank Skinner Live and Jena Friedman: Miscarriage of Justice.
