Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wish Prince George happy birthday on Instagram using emojis after Charlotte and William row
PRINCE George is celebrating his sixth birthday today and auntie Meghan and uncle Harry have taken to social media to share a cute message on their nephew's special day.
Following the Kensington Royal Instagram account sharing three never-before-seen snaps of George, the Sussexes posted a cute comment along with two emojis.
"Happy Birthday! Wishing you a very special day and lots of love!" The comment read, along with a birthday cake and balloon emoji.
The adorable message seems to be in contrast to the "formal" message Harry and Meghan left on William's birthday post last month.
At the time, and lacking their usual social media flair, the @sussexroyal account simply commented: "Happy Birthday to The Duke of Cambridge!"
One royal fan wrote: "It's your own brother, why the need to be so formal?"
It comes after the pair were criticised by fans in May for not referring to Charlotte as "Princess Charlotte" on her birthday.
They wrote: "Happy birthday Charlotte! lots of love, H and M xo"
Mum Kate Middleton and dad Prince William released three adorable images of the young prince to mark his sixth birthday.
Two show George laughing in an England football kit, taken by 37-year-old Kate last month in Kensington Palace gardens.
The Duchess of Cambridge also took the third photo of George this week - on their hols on the exclusive Caribbean island of Mustique.
"Happy Birthday Prince George!", the caption read.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share new photographs of Prince George to mark His Royal Highness's sixth birthday.
"This photograph was taken on holiday with the family by The Duchess of Cambridge.
"Thank you everyone for all your lovely messages!"
The Cambridges flew to the luxury hideaway of Mustique last week.
The prince is on holiday with parents Wills, 37, Kate, sister Charlotte, four, and little brother Louis, one.
An island source said: “The Cambridges are staying at the newest villa on the island and it is totally set up for a family.
“The kids who have stayed there before absolutely love the bunk beds and child-friendly facilities.
“As the villa is fully staffed they can also ask for whatever they want, whenever they want.”
