Mother-in-law who ‘forgot’ her wedding outfit but packed a white top and skirt is branded ‘spiteful’ by the bride
IT'S the cardinal fashion rule that you DON'T wear white to anyone else's wedding. No questions asked.
But while we've all heard wedding horror stories of guests breaking dress codes on their pal's big day, one "spiteful" mother-in-law has been blasted online after she "forgot" her original outfit and turned up in (you've guessed it) an all white ensemble.
Posting a photo of her and her mother-in-law on the Facebook group That's It, I'm Wedding Shaming, the American bride explained: "My mother-in-law lives out of state and after she arrived, I got a call from her saying that she forgot to pack her dress to our wedding and the only thing she did have was this white top and skirt.
"Being the push over that I was at the time, I graciously said it was okay."
Unsurprisingly, the bride has since come to the conclusion that her mother-in-law's apparent oversight was a purposeful decision to upstage the couple.
She added: "To this day, I still think she did it out of spite for marrying her son without her blessing."
Needless to say, other users have rallied around the bride and slammed for mother-in-law for the fashion faux pas.
"Wearing all white was a deliberate decision," one wrote.
Another pointed out: "Interesting she remembered matching white shoes too hmmmm?"
Meanwhile, less understanding members of the group said: "I would have given her directions to the nearest mall."
"I would have told her Target is open late," a fourth wrote.
For more wedding horror stories, this "creepy" mother-of-the-groom clutched her son's hand and "blocked out" the bride in a bizarre wedding photo.
And a horrified bride revealed that her "frugal" mother-in-law bought a WEDDING DRESS and wore it to her big day because she "couldn't resist a bargain".
Plus a Bridezilla has horrified guests by asking for a "wedding leotard" to wear for the first dance.
