Meghan Markle is the oldest of the Fab Four and ‘should be mature enough to patch up any rifts’, says royal expert
MEGHAN Markle – the oldest of the Fab Four – should be “mature enough” to patch up any alleged royal rifts, a royal expert claims.
Speaking to Fabulous Digital, Phil Dampier stated that many see the Duchess of Sussex, 37, as a “young newcomer” but she’s actually the eldest out of the two couples.
Rumours of a royal rift have been circulating after it was announced Meghan and Prince Harry, 34, were to split royal households and their joint charity foundation with Prince William, 37, and Kate Middleton, 37.
The royal commentator said: “What’s interesting, that we tend to forget, is Meghan is 38 on August 4.
“She is the oldest of all of them. Already we think of her as this young newcomer but she is nearly middle aged.
“We tend to forget that she will be 38 so hopefully she’s mature enough and the others are mature enough to realise they are all in it together for the long term.”
He added that “once the Queen has departed”, the Fab Four will have a lot more responsibility and will have to “get on with it”.
Phil explained: “They will have to get on and it’s much better for them to sort out their problems now instead of letting it fester.
“I think they have patched it up and I think they are getting on a lot better than they were a few months ago. I think they’ve both come to their senses.
“Whether the Queen or Charles has said something to them I don’t know but it wouldn’t surprise me.”
The couples have been putting on a more united front lately, after they were all spotted at the polo earlier this month.
As Prince William and Prince Harry saddled up for the charity competition, Meghan and Kate were seen playing with their children who came along to the event.
Meanwhile the stylish duchesses made a duo appearance at Wimbledon this year, and were pictured beaming together while they watched Meghan’s pal Serena Williams play.
Phil added: “The fact they were seen together at Wimbledon and polo is a good sign.
“I don’t think it was a PR stunt, I think they were genuinely going to the events and William and Harry were both playing the polo.”
We tend to forget that she will be 38 so hopefully she’s mature enough and the others are mature enough to realise they are all in it together for the long term.

And royal writer Carolyn Durand said the two women have recently “bonded over motherhood” and catch up regularly over text.
She says that the birth of royal baby Archie has helped the two women become closer.
Speaking to Carolyn said: “Kate was a great source of support to Meghan in the days leading up to Archie’s birth and, despite reports of a rift, they are family and have a really lovely friendship.
“Their relationship has constantly evolved over time and they have become closer since Meghan’s wedding.”
Carolyn said that aside from the rumoured royal Whatsapp group, the two Duchesses also regularly message.
She continued: “They talk and text regularly, they have more in common and Kate has wanted to make sure Meghan has felt welcomed to the family.”
The rift rumours were sparked after a source claimed that Meghan had made Kate cry during Princess Charlotte's bridesmaids fitting last year.
These were further stoked when Kensington Palace confirmed that Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex were moving to Windsor.
While the move was a shock announcement, no officials have confirmed that there is any kind of rift between the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge or Prince Harry and William.
