Idris Elba reveals Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding ‘went down’ and they danced to everything from Whitney Houston to 2Pac
WHEN Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot last year, we could only imagine that they had one hell of a party.
And now, A-list royal wedding guest Idris Elba has confirmed that it did in fact “go down” at the wedding of the century.
The British actor – who also DJs – was reportedly asked by Meghan and Harry to create a set for the reception party.
And in an interview with , the 46-year-old dished the goss, even calling the whole thing “incredible” and revealing 2Pac featured on the playlist.
“Harry and Meghan had a great time,” Idris revealed.
“I don’t wanna get into the details but it was incredible.
“They had some particular music they wanted me to play: some Whitney Houston, some 2Pac.
“Yeah, it went down. It went down.”
My Girl by The Temptations as well as Stevie Wonder’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours were also said to be on the wedding playlist.
It’s also been reported that Aretha Franklin as well as hits from the 80s and 90s played while A-list guests danced the night away.
Since the wedding last year, further details regarding the couple’s evening reception at Frogmore House have been revealed, with claims that the party guests tucked into “dirty burgers” and candyfloss during the event.
Food was thought to be served with a Harry-inspired cocktail featuring ginger and rum – named When Harry Met Meghan.
James Corden is said to have played a surprise role as compere at the evening reception, which also featured a breathtaking firework display to round off the night.
It followed a more formal reception hosted by the Queen at lunchtime in St George’s Hall where the speeches were made as Elton John serenaded the newlyweds.
