The photo sees the newlywed in her white bridal gown stood next to her new mother-in-law who is dressed in a head-to-toe ivory suit.

Not only that but her father-in-law followed the same colour palette, opting to wear a two piece cream suit.

Captioning the image, the bitter bride quoted the mother-of-the-groom who claimed to be wearing ivory, writing: "'It's fine because it's not white.'"

However, fellow Reddit users were wholly in agreement with the bride that her in-law's ensemble was inappropriate with her post receiving hundreds of bolstering comments.

Another agreed adding: "When you have to keep telling people that 'It's fine, because it's not white', it's probably not fine because it's f***ing white!"

"That is a very white shade of not-white" commented a third.

Meanwhile another user pointed out that the blouse worn under the suit was a shade of purple, also part of the bride's colour scheme.

They wrote: "Is that a lilac shell too? Two of your wedding day colors in one outfit."

The bride claimed this was done deliberately, responding: " That was her trying to one-up me... I made my entire dress, so she HAD to make something for her outfit too.

"And, purple was the color her son chose - I had chosen a lighter shade of the greenish teal in DH's bowtie."

The photo was shared on the subreddit r/JUSTNOMIL.
