Clearly Star Wars fans, the pair decided to reference Hans Solo and Princess Leia, aka Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher’s, infamous line, where she says ‘I love you’, and Hans replies ‘I know’.

Despite taking inspiration from the cult film, the ring tattoos have been slammed as a terrible idea.

On their respective ring fingers, one tattoo has a heart symbol in the place of the word ‘love’, and they’ve both been given the distinctive bubble design mimicking the lettering of the films.

A photo of the ‘rings’ ended up on Facebook group , and people haven’t held back with their criticism.

Another said: “These are going to look great when the ink bleeds together and you can’t even make out what it says.”

A third wrote: “It’s gonna be a black blob in a few years, if it even takes that long.”

Someone else thought: “Star Wars fan or not this is f*****g stupid.
